Simple Men and Southern Nights have the respect of many Celebrity Artists who will appear as guests performers with the band for special shows to add a bit of star power.

Randall Hall

Randall Hall was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and began playing guitar at a young age.  Self taught, Randall plays with a style and feel like no other.  His band Running Easy opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd several times back in 1970s.  His playing caught the attention of founding member Alan Collins.  After the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash in 1977, Alan Collins formed his own Southern Rock band called the Alan Collins band and tapped Randall to play guitar.  They record an album in 1983 titled “Here, There and Back” that was critically acclaimed.  Alan Collins was paralyzed in a car accident in 1986, which left him unable to perform.

In 1987, Lynyrd Skynyrd reunited with all of the surviving original members of the group.  Johnny Van Zant replaced his brother Ronnie Van Zant on lead vocals and Alan Collins tapped Randall Hall to replace him on guitar.  Randall toured the world with Lynyrd Skynyrd over his next 9 years in the band, playing to sold out audiences all over the world.  He regularly sits in with Simple Men and Southern Nights, delivering chilling renditions of all of your Lynyrd Skynyrd classics.

Derek St. Holmes

Born and raised in Michigan, Derek St. Holmes is one of the most iconic voices in rock and roll history.  In 1974, Derek caught the eye of Ted Nugent when his band opened for Nugent’s Amboy Dukes.  After the Dukes disbanded, Nugent reached out to St. Holmes to be the lead singer of his new solo project, the Ted Nugent Band.  Their 1975 debit album spawned the hits “Stranglehold”, “Hey Baby” and “Just What the Doctor Ordered”.

St. Holmes has also performed with a veritable who’s who of rock and roll.  The Whitford St. Holmes Band combined Derek with Aerosmith bassist Brad Whitford.  He has been in other projects with members of Montrose, the Cars, .38 Special and Liberty DeVitto from Billy Joel’s Band.  Derek’s soulful voice and incredible guitar playing puts that special touch on any Simple Men and Southern Night’s show and will have your audience rocking.
